West View TaeKwon-Do is a member of Traditional TaeKwon-Do Alliance and is one of two TaeKwon-Do programs offered through the City of Westminster's Parks and Recreation Programs in Colorado. Our History
West View Taekwon-Do has been active as a Traditional TaeKwon-Do Alliance affiliated class for many years. The head instructor is Mr. Kenton Good, a 5th Dan Blackbelt who started in TaeKwon-Do in 1996 and was previously the assistant instructor at Hups TaeKwon-Do. He is assisted by Mr. Jim Heyl, a 4th Dan Blackbelt who also has more than a decade of experience and loves teaching. Ms. Adrienne Harness, a 5th Dan Blackbelt and a previous head instructor and Mr. Ron Elston, also a 5th Dan, substitute as assistant instructors in our class as needed. All instructors have completed extensive instructor training and attend ongoing instructor classes and seminars throughout each year.

Mr. Kenton Good -- V Dan Black Belt
Mr. Good is the Head Instructor at the West View class. He started his TaeKwon-Do career almost 30 years ago. Known for his outstanding technique, speed and flying kicks, Mr. Good has previously applied his expertise as the head instructor of the Pee Wee class at theMAC in the past and as the assistant instructor in the main class at the MAC Center. In addition to being an instructor, he is also the Regional Director for the TTA and the primary instructor for the TTA's kicking seminars and teaches at the referee/sparring and self-defense seminars. He has participated in numerous Ho Sin Sul's, many other Seminars and is a member of the TTA Demonstration Team having done TaeKwon-Do Demonstrations at The Denver Coliseum, The Bladium and at Westy Fest in Westminster.

Mr. Jim Heyl -- IV Dan Black Belt
Mr. Heyl is the Assistant Instructor at the Westview class. He tested for his IV Dan black belt in 2022 and, after most of a decade as a student, has been an active instructor since 2016. Mr. Heyl is a 4th Dan Black Belt and also the Communications Director for the TTA. He has shown his considerable skills as an excellent Ho Sin Sul partner on many occasions and been an active participant in the class's public TaeKwon-Do demonstrations. Mr. Heyl teaches the referee/sparring and self-defense seminars among others and enjoys instructing both children and adults taking an active interest in their success!

Ms. Harness is an Assistant Instructor at the MAC class and also helps with the West View class. She has been involved in TaeKwon-Do since 2007, studying under Master Hups since 2010. She has been an instructor for several years and earned her V Dan Blackbelt in 2022. Previously she was the Head Instructor at the West View class, however, a possible family move inclined her to step down from this position. She is also the Chief Referee at TTA sanctioned tournaments and an avid Ho Sin Sul partner for blackbelts. She also teaches the referee/sparring and self defense seminars among others. Learning a martial art has always been a dream of hers and being able to teach and share the knowledge with others now is a joy for her.

Mr. Elston is an Assistant Instructor at the MAC class and occasionally attends the West View class as well. He has been a student of Grand Master Hups for almost 20 years One of his lifetime goals was to achieve his Black Belt in a martial art and, thanks to training with Grand Master Hups and a lot of hard work, he accomplished that goal in 2006. He is a 5th Dan Black Belt, the VP of the TTA and a proud member of the Traditional TaeKwon-Do Alliance Demonstration Team. He teaches at the referee/sparring, self-defense and Ho Sin Sul seminars among others. Mr. Elston particularly enjoys helping students gain the knowledge and skill needed to do things they never thought possible. Their fun and successes help motivate him to continue striving forward in the art.
